"The earth is blue like an orange "
Paul Eluard
The blue planet, the breadcrumb trail of the The earth is blue like an orange ( “La terre est bleue comme une orange) series, is an example of the creative process by which an initial creation evolves towards another path.

Initially a paper model, this planet was integrated into photo collages (personal collection) for a final cyanotype print, some of which were enhanced with plants. The shell and manta ray were also originally paper models.

Inspired by the famous phrase of French surrealist poet Paul Eluard, “La terre est bleue comme orange” (The earth is blue like an orange) questions our place in and relationship with the world, against a backdrop of everyday absurdity, based on the values of Peace, Gratitude, Insouciance and Resilience.

What if our imagination, disturbed and stimulated by these creations, were to rethink the links between Nature and Humanity for a message of reconciliation and rediscovered peace?

This series of cyanotypes, in 20x20 format and printed on Arches platinum paper, was created for the 2024 exhibition at 111 des Arts in Toulouse.
